Kneecap premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, the first Irish language film to do so, winning the NEXT Audience Award. At the Galway Film Fleadh(festival), Kneecap won the Audience Award, Best Irish Film, and the Irish Language Feature Film Award. 

When fate brings Belfast music/Irish language teacher, JJ into the orbit of self-confessed "low life scum" Naoise and Liam Óg, the needle drops on a hip-hop act like no other. Rapping in their native Irish, they lead a movement to save their mother tongue.

Kneecap is a comedy-drama film written and directed by Rich Peppiatt. The film depicts the rise of real life Irish hip-hop trio, Kneecap in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The film stars the band members as themselves, with Michael Fassbender, Jessica Reynolds, Adam Best and others in supporting roles.
