The venue offers a true theatre experience, with a state-of-the-art 4K projector.

With sloped floors and permanent seating, the theatre is equipped with digital projection and features stereo sound.

The venue is fully accessible.

There will be a table staffed by volunteers in the main lobby of the museum. All patrons are to enter by the main entrance where they will be guided to the Museum theatre.
Do not go to the ticket booths where staff for the Canadian Museum of Nature sells admission to museum visitors. Look for the table in the main lobby with festival volunteers. There will be signage.

There will be a box office for patrons to purchase tickets at the venue. Tickets will be sold outside the theatre. There will be signage and volunteers who can direct you. It is advised that you purchase your tickets online in advance as the film of your choice may sell out by the time you arrive. There is no room to add extra seating.

Tickets to festival screenings do not include admission to the Museum exhibits nor do you need to pay for Museum admission to attend the festival.

The Canadian Museum of Nature has parking on site

Standard rate: $5 per half hour (4:30 am – 4:30 pm)

Charges accumulate on vehicles parked overnight

All payments for museum parking occur on-site inside the building or upon exiting the lot.
The museum does not work with any third-party parking vendors.

Parking is also available at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre on 290 Lisgar St.
​
The Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre is a 10 min walk to the Canadian Museum of Nature using O'Connor St.
​
Evening and weekend parking rates is a flat rate of $5.

The parking spaces next to the charging stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Driving Directions
​
If you are on Highway 417 (the Queensway), take the Metcalfe exit, number 119.
You can see the museum from the highway—look on the north side for a “castle”.
​
If you are heading west, it will be on your right.
​
If you are heading east, it will be on your left.
​​
Public Transit

Multiple STO bus routes will take you to the corner of Albert and Metcalfe streets in Ottawa, which meet close to Parliament Hill. From there, you can walk to the museum (details below).

Several bicycle paths run near the museum:

Bicycle racks are available at the museum for cyclists.

Walking
​
The museum is a 15-to-20-minute walk south from Parliament Hill.
Metcalfe Street takes you directly to the main entrance of the museum.
Elgin and O’Connor streets take you to the perimeter of the museum grounds.
