Special guest and star actor/musician Edith Lawlor will be joining us in person!
Former All-Ireland U12 fiddle champion Edith Lawlor will be joining us with her fiddle and some other surprise guests for this special screening of the Best Irish Feature award winner for the 2024 Galway Film Fleadh(festival) and Newport Beach Film Festival (audience award).
Directed by Anne McCabe, Fidil Ghorm tells the story of 10-year-old Molly who embarks on a determined mission to bring her father out of a coma by mastering the fiddle and sinning the All-Ireland fiddle championship. When her father is transferred to a rehabilitation center, she encounters Malachy, a grumpy yet intriguing elderly man with a fascinating past as a champion fiddler. Captivated by his music, Molly convinces him to teach her the fiddle, and their partnership flourishes. Together, they undertake a powerful journey filled with music, resilience, and deep connection, unlocking the magic that only music can create.

A charming heartwarming family drama, Fidil Ghorm is like a warm hug that follows a recent revival of award-winning Irish language films such as The Quiet Girl (An Cailín Ciúin), Roisin and Frank and Arracht.
